About this Site

This site is a public resource focused on humpback whales seen in Juneau's waters.
It was originally constructed by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Alaska Fisheries Science Center, and is now supported and managed by University of Alaska Fairbanks, with funding support from North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) and the Marine Ecosystem Sustainability in the Arctic and Subarctic (MESAS) program at University of Alaska Fairbanks.
